L-LAB's stand on the event "NRW60" met with big response from the public. Scientists of the research center for lighting techniques and mechatronics, supported by the University of Paderborn and the automotive supplier Hella KGaA, presented their activities under the topic "Do all headlamps glare similarly?" in the "Future Tent" of the Ministry of Innovation, Science, Research and Technology. |

Amongst many visitors, the Deputy Prime and Innovation Minister Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart as well as Minister of Economy Christa Thoben. found their way to the L-LAB stand. While the Innovation Minister's was especially interested in research projects and PhD education, Mrs. Thoben asked directly, how the transfer of know-how between the fundamental scientific research and practical industrial application research finds its way. |

L-LAB has been founded as a joint research institute by Hella and the University of Paderborn. About 20 scientists and 25 students work in the L-LAB on topics of fundamental research in lighting technologies and mechatronics. The main aim is the development of new lighting systems for road traffic, to minimize the number of night-time accidents.
